An auction for the manuscripts and personal belongings of Romanian-born philosopher Emil Cioran took place in Paris in April 2011. Since the Romanian Government showed no interest in bringing the national treasure to the country, the public grew frustrated with the authorities, complaining about their failure in fulfilling their mission. The great philosopher’s belongings were at risk of staying away from his home country for good – hence TVR’s idea to try and participate. TVR and BCU (Central University Library) joined forces at the last moment (photo).
